Determining whether an item is authentic can be tricky.  Manufacturers of counterfeit handbags have become more sophisticated in their efforts to cheat consumers. 
Every woman deserves to purchase genuine authentic designer handbags at affordable prices and should not have to worry whether it is authentic or fake.

If you know a few basic things to look for, you will be able to spot a fake item in just a few minutes of your time.   Here are some details that you should look for:

1)  One of the first and easiest things to look for is an authenticity card.  Many Designers including Fendi®, Prada®, and Christian Dior® include authenticity cards with their merchandise.  These cards have basic information about the merchandise such as the model number, and include a magnetic strip or a bar code.  Fendi® merchandise comes with their authenticity cards usually inside of the bag.  If there is an inside pocket it will usually be inside of the pocket.  Some of the most luxurious Fendi® designer items come with their authenticity cards wrapped in a sealed foil bag.  Prada® encloses their cards in small individual envelopes with the Prada® logo on the front.  Prada® has two authenticity cards inside of each envelope.  One is similar to a "Credit Card" with a magnetic strip on the back and Prada® written on the front.  The other card has the item details including the style number.  Christian Dior® authenticity cards also come inside a white envelope.  Christian Dior® includes a Care Booklet also.

2)  Many designer handbags come with a serial number.  The serial number for Fendi® handbags and purses can be found on the inside pocket.  Just turn the pocket inside out and you will see an embossed printed number on the lining.  Sometimes the serial number is engraved on a leather strip tag.  Some of the newer Fendi® models also will have a Hologram attached to a tag sewn into the lining of the bag.  Please note that if your handbag does not have a Hologram tag it does not mean that it is not authentic.  Not all Fendi® handbags have the Hologram. 

3)  Most designer handbags will have their signature brand name monogram lining.  The designer monogram is woven into the fabric, not stamped on the fabric.  The linings are always smooth, silky and some are even satin.  The color of the lining depends on the outer color of the handbag but it is always complimentary.  The lining on fake bags is usually a stiff fabric. 

4)  The strap on a fake Fendi® bag is a little stiff, also the strap on the fake bag has contrast colored stitching. The strap on an authentic Fendi® has smooth leather and the stitching is always the same color as the leather strap. The stitching on the authentic Fendi® is straight and is evenly spaced.  The strap on a fake Fendi® will usually be of poor quality leather on the front side and vinyl on the back side.  When you view the side of the strap on a fake bag you will notice "layers" of leather and vinyl.  The authentic Fendi® strap is always made of solid fine leather and when viewed from the side it will look like one solid piece of leather.  Some of the authentic designer handbags have straps that are specially coated and appear to be artificial.  However, take a look at the edge of the strap and you should see a solid leather core.

5)  The buckles on an authentic Fendi® are "weighty" and have Fendi® engraved on the sides.  Most authentic designer handbags have the designer name or logo engraved on the buckles and are the finest quality "heavy" hardwares.

6)  Most authentic designer handbags have a signature logo on their bags.  Authentic Prada® handbags have a triangle metal logo attached to the front or side of their bags.  Authentic Fendi® handbags have a rectangular silver metal plate with their name engraved, it is attached to the inner pocket.  Each designer has their own unique logo and they always display it proudly on their handbags. 
 
Generally a simple evaluation of the quality of the item can be the best method for judging the authenticity.  The item should be well made and very durable.  Designers have built and earned their outstanding reputations because of the quality behind the designer name.  You are paying for the quality as well as the designer name and you deserve a 100% authentic designer handbag.
